Gussie was a faithful member of New Faith Baptist Church where she served in the Central Nursing Ministry, a ministry under the Missionary Ministry and also as a Sunday school teacher for the little children. She loved her church and her church family very much.

Gussie was preceded in death by her son Timothy Bray.  She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Deanna Porter; grandchildren Alicia Porter, Brandon Porter, Connor Porter, Elaysha Porter, Epiphany Bray and Timothy Bray; great-grandchildren Zyrie Wright, Zyaire Wright, Zyariah Wright, Terrell Porter, Addison Sudwischer, Azalea  Bray and Korra Bray; her beloved sister and lifelong friend of 73 years, Rev. Walda Johnson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends who loved her very much.

Gussie was known for her strength, her faith, and the love she showed to everyone around her.  She always kept a smile on her face and trusted God through every season of life.  She will truly be missed, but her love will live on in all who knew her.
