Calling Hours (only 10 at a time), Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at White's Funeral Home Chapel. Private Family Service (50 maximum) at 3:00 p.m., tickets are required for entry. Services will be live streamed. The family will receive flowers at the funeral home.
Guy Vester Walker, was born October 16, 1933 in Talapoosa, GA to Rena May Hannah and Guy V. Walker, who preceded him in death. Guy passed at the age of 87, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in the comfort of his home. His sister Octavia and brother Larry preceded him in death.
Guy joined the Air Force shortly after graduating from high school in Cleveland, OH. While in the Air Force he served in the Vietnam and Korean War. He was stationed in several air bases in the United states as well as Yokota and Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan where he met wife - Masako and married her in 1972. After serving 24 years in the Air Force, he retired in 1975 as a Tech Sergeant at Rickenbacker Air Force base, Columbus, Ohio. Keeping in the same career path from the military, Guy went to work for Defense Supply Center in Columbus where he retired in 1990. After a short break he went to work for the Columbus Dispatch News Paper where he held various positions always keeping in touch with his customers that he turned into life long friends and always did various thing to assist them well beyond the Dispatch.
Guy’s passion for antique cars became his hobby especially while taking a part-time job as a sales representative at Jack Schmidt Oldsmobile. His infectious smile and laughter would make everyone around him happy and create and instant friendship. He as always enjoyed traveling with his family in the Winnebago taking various trips to Florida and other vacation spots around the country.
Guy V Walker leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 49 years Masako and their son Mark A. Walker (Natalie). His ex-wife and their two sons Harold Walker (Tammy), and Guy Walker Jr; from a previous relationship his only daughter Sparkl-Anita West-Pruitt (Abram); grandchildren, Marquise Walker, Markia Walker, Malcolm Walker, Milan Walker, Moriko Walker, Ryan Walker, Harold Walker Jr., Brittney West, and Terrence West and grandchildren.
