Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at White's Chapel. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Gwedolyn Stanley-Looney (Duchess), age 58, departed this life April 8, 2022 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Gwendolyn was born to Ruth Cannon-Thomas and Ronald E. Thomas, August 16, 1963 in Washington Court House, Ohio. She graduated from West High School in 1980. After graduating, she studied Fashion Merchandsing at Stautzenberger College from September14, 1981 - December 31, 1983. She loved to decorate and design anything she got her hands on.

Gwendolyn was married to Robert Looney. She enjoyed sewing, decorating, traveling and cooking. She eventually went on to retire from Lazarus as a waiter.

Dushes was a very loving wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend to everyone she met. As far as we know, she never met a stranger that she wouldn't help. One thing you could always count on is knowing she was in the room. Her loving smile and caring yet aggressive voice will truly be missed by everyone she knew.

Gwendolyn is preceded in death by Francis Cannon, Hazel Rose and Anna Cannon. She leaves to cherish her memory parents, Ruth M. Cannon-Thomas and Ronald E. Thomas; husband, Robert Looney; son, Andrew Thomas (Juley), and William Thomas (Sherrie) special friend; sister, Faith Martin; grandchildren Christina Overholt, Dauvion Thomas and Liam Woods; niece, Margaretha Martin; nephew Domnick Thomas; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and frined.
