Gwendolyn Louise Talbert
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great Great - Grandmother
Gwendolyn Louise Talbert, born November 18, 1931, in Dallas, Texas was a beacon of love and light to all who knew her. Raised in Dallas, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma by her parents Grady and Addie Lee Jones, she learned how to embrace life, and cherished all time spent with family and friends.
Gwendolyn, like so many of us, found her greatest joy in her commitment to being a military wife and motherhood, which led to the creation of a legacy for her children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great - grandmother. Her passion for education, along with her own academic accomplishments at the University of Akron, laid a strong foundation that instilled in her family the values of love, hope, and charity. She was often seen at family gatherings, watching over the many branches of the beautiful family tree that she and her late husband (married for 41yrs), Leon Franklin Talbert (HollySprings, Miss.), nurtured together.
On March 18, 2025, Gwendolyn, like the Angel she was, peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. At the Heavenly Gates, she was welcomed by her Mother, Father, Sisters Edna and Evelyn, Brother Clarence, Husband Leon and Son, Eric and many cherished family members and friends who had gone before her. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit and legacy live on through her Grandchildren, Damian (wife Sabrina) and Erica; and Great Grandchildren Davon (wife Julia), Ty (Fiance’ Amari), Nyah, and Great-Great-grandchildren Ace Monte and Roman Thaddeus; as well as, a host of beloved Nieces and Nephews, family, and friends stretching from coast to coast.
