Gypsy Rose Lee was born Monday May 24th,1948 in Columbus, OH to Louise Marzett & Henry L Townsend. She was baptized at an early age at Trinity Baptist Church.

Gypsy, affectionally known as “Mother Dear” was a loving & devoted mother and leader to her entire family. Her children were her entire world; she raised them to be true to themselves and was known for keeping it real.

With the birth of her first grandchild Gypsy became Nan-Naw the endearing name for grandmother. Nan-Naw loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she would always express to them how important education was. “ You got to go to school , you got to get your education “ she would say; because she always wanted the absolute best for them.

Nan-Naw as her grandchildren would call her, had many hobbies and interests in life. Some of these included reading the Quran, bowling, cooking for both family and friends, crocheting, playing cards, reading, playing back gammon, and watching a good movie. She had a special love for ice cream & cats. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, making sure she repped her black & yellow with her baby Dez.

Our beloved Gypsy Rose Lee peacefully passed away Thursday, September 25th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Gypsy Rose Lee is proceeded in death by parents Louise Marzett, Henry L Townsend Brother; John P Marzett Grandson; Trezonn L. Townsend
