Henrietta Young

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Greenlawn Cemetery.

Henrietta was called from labor to reward on August 2nd, 2023, at the age of 98. To God be the Glory! She was born February 11th, 1925, to Irving and Emma Mullins in Columbus, Ohio.

Henrietta graduated from Columbus East High School in 1943. As a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for over sixty years, she was active with the Chancel choir and the Women’s Adult Sunday School class (where she became known for her chocolate chip cookies around Christmas time). She was also a part of the church’s bowling league. Along with being a part of the church and its activities, Henrietta enjoyed reading (especially mysteries), working on crossword puzzles, crocheting, and caring for her beloved plants (roses and African violets).

God had richly blessed Henrietta with a long life. She has been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great, great grandmother. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents Irving and Emma, beloved husband Allen L. Young, and loving daughters Glenda D. and Joilyn Young. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters; Lynnette Ross and Lori (Rodney) Davis. Her six grandchildren; Christopher, Collin, David (Maggie), Alison, Brittany, and Tyler. Nine great grandchildren; Daija, Corey, Chandler, Elizabeth, Quincee, Charles, Collin, Timothy, and Reed along with a host of great great grandchildren, extended family, friends, and caregivers.
