Henry Butcher, Jr. Obituary

Family will receive friends Thursday May 12, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Union Tabernacle of God, 1345 Atcheson Street, Cols, OH 43203.  Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.

Henry Butcher Jr., Age 50, was born October 27, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio to Henry and Rosetta (Campbell) butcher. He was the youngest of three children. Henry passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at his home.

Henry loved to hunt and fish, even as a young child, after his uncles taught him (Uncle Roy and Uncle Paul). He was also a car guy. From his famous Chevette to his 63’ 64’ Impalas. He loved going to car and motorcycle races. Henry was a sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, San Francisco 49ers, Lebron James, Giannis Antekoumpo (“That boy Giannis”).

Henry was a chef who loved to cook from his restaurant to home, to family reunions he did it all! He ran a successful business with his father and two sisters. He did all this while still finding time to go camping every now and then.

Henry was a very hard worker, this was instilled in him by Henry Butcher Sr. at a very young age where he worked cleaning floors in the restaurant his father was the head chef at the time. Henry was a very skilled man and was taught many things by all his uncles. He also was a great construction worker, working for Gaddis, then landing a job with Kokosing.

Left to cherish his fond and loving memories, children; Isaiah Evans, Malik Butcher, Austin Bristow, Nicole Thompson, grandchildren; Na’riyah, Noelle, Dezman, Jr., Austin, parents; Henry Butcher Sr. and Rosetta (Campbell) Butcher, two sisters; Tonya Butcher, Antoinette (Ree) Butcher, nieces; Jasmine Henley, Rachelle Butcher, Javauna Henley; kids’ mother, Melissa Evans and other family and friends.

No matter the situation, it was always fun and good times to be had. From his hilarious storytelling, to his contagious personality and smile. Henry “June Bug”, “June Lover”, was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Always remember, “It’s chess not checkers.”
