Inez Lawrence

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at New Faith Baptist Church, 955 Oak Street, Columbus, OH 43205. Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery

Inez (Hawkins) Lawrence went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1942, in Greenwood Mississippi to the late Samuel and Catherine Hawkins who preceded her in death.

Inez gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Love Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev M.B. Myers.

Inez was a graduate of East High School. She was a former employee of Western Electric and retired as a Project Manager with the Galbreath Company.

Inez was a proud Army wife who supported her husband while he served our country for 21 years.

Inez is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Catherine Hawkins, her husband of 53 years Anthony; brothers John and Harry Hawkins; sisters Dorothy Williams and Mary Vallejo; special cousin Ernestine Lipsey and great grandson James Woods.

Inez leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life two loving sons Anthony Jr. and Robert (Karen) Lawrence of Columbus Ohio; grandchildren Tamia (Tim) Woods, Christine and Ciera Lawrence, Stylae Turner and Antwain Shuemak; brother Robert Hawkins and sister Sandra Hawkins; sister-in-law Laverne Elder; great grandchildren Londyn and Legacy Lawrence, Antwain Jr, and Antonio Shuemak, Erin Turner and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. 

Inez favorite scripture was Psalm 121. Her favorite past times were spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, reading, shopping and wearing many different types of hats.
