Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Rd., Columbus, OH 43227.

Jacqueline Yvonne Stephenson was born on December 11, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio to Harvey and Sarah Cook.  She was the youngest of four children.  After 64 years of life, she passed away on January 23, 2025, due to complications from pneumonia.

Jackie was educated through the Dayton Public School System.  After graduating from Patterson Co-Op High School in 1979, she attended The Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 1985.  Although she was a native Daytonian, she loved Columbus and decided to make it her home after meeting the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Stephenson, in 1983.  They later married in 1997, and to this union a son, Akinyele Olujima Stephenson was born.

Upon graduating, Jackie became employed with the State of Ohio and worked for the Ohio Student Loan Commission for many years.  During her tenure with the State of Ohio, she held various positions and after 30 years of service, she finally retired on July 31, 2019, as a Planner in the Ohio Traffic Safety Office at the Ohio Department of Public Safety.  Jackie was loved by many and respected for her professionalism, knowledge and dedication.

Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband and son, but in her spare time she loved to travel and cherished spending time with her family and friends.  She loved her family and was very protective of them.  She will be missed tremendously.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Cook; sisters, Deborah Renee Livers and Dianne Patricia Cook; Grandmother, Sue Ellen Coleman; and father-in-law, Charles A. Stephenson Jr.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband and son; father, Harvey Cook; sister, Janice "Niecy" Cook; niece, Kandace (Kellen) Hunter; nephews, Jason Bailey, Cincinnati, OH and Mathew (Emily) Livers, Miami, Florida; sister-in-laws, Tamara Stephenson, Cincinnati, OH and Sunnie (Michael) Young, San Diego, CA; cousins, Noble (Jan) Lee and Peggy Wilson, Dayton, OH; best friends; Paulette Kelly, Stephanie Cook, Valerie Sherrer, Leslie and Julia "Missy" Morris, Wanda Clay, Portia Pulsifer and Patricia Lewis; and a host of family and friends.
