James Eadom Obituary

James Eadom departed this life August 19, 2021. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral Home Chapel. Private family service (Eadom-Freeman) at 11:00 a.m. Interment Evergreen Burial Park.

In Honor of my beloved father, Mr. James "Jimmie" Eadom. Mr. Eadom was originally from the City of Luverne in Crenshaw County, Alabama. He was born to his late parents, Mr. Gene Eadom and Mrs. Mattie Peak Eadom. Mr. James Eadom, his parents and siblings moved to Ohio where their family lived in the Fly-Town neighborhood, just north of Downtown Columbus, Ohio, on Buttles Avenue.

Mr. Eadom attended West High School. He worked for The State of Ohio; and also, worked as a Carpenter. Mr. Eadom was a loving father, a loyal friend, a caring brother, generous in spirit and trusting family-oriented man. And, a devout believer in Christ Jesus. He was a highly respected & positively productive member of his community. He was a wise sage who often shared wisdom nuggets to those in need of concise counsel. Mr. Eadom was very adept at giving clear guidance on life's matters to those in need of judicious advice.

Indeed, Mr. James Eadom very much was a people person. He had a very warm, charming, friendly, charismatic, and welcoming personality. He never met a stranger. Mr. Eadom was the most humble, kind-hearted, sweetest human being who ever graced the earth. He was the realest and coolest ole school daddy a person could ever wish to meet in their lifetime. Mr. Eadom was affectionately known as, "Piggy" or "Pig" by his closest friends and family members.

For many decades, Mr. Eadom was an active and faithful member of Peace Missionary Baptist Church, under the founding Pastor his relative, Reverend Matthew Freeman, at its original location at 1900 Argyle Drive. Where he was affectionately known as"Brother Jimmie". He always showed up very sharply dressed from head-to-toe for church services. Representing his dressing style, even right down to his Stacey Adams shoes. He stayed clean and impressively dressed. Brother Jimmie was soft-spoken with unassuming mannerisms. He loved good old-fashioned church music.

On August 19th in the year of our lord twenty – twenty- one, my precious father, Mr. James Eadom transitioned from this earthy, physical life to be present with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. James Eadom was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 1 son. His surviving siblings are Helen Brunston and Rosie Eadom. Mr. James Eadom is survived by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A special prayer from your Daughter …
