On February 6, 2003, Jeremiah was born at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in the hills of Ranson, West Virginia. God blessed Talisha and Jeremy Clinton with a precious gift, Jeremiah James Clinton. The lovable, friendly, and admirable Jeremiah passed into the arms of God our Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
Jeremiah was a respectful and polite child, who always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Having many interests, Jeremiah began his athletic career at age 5 playing soccer for the Columbus East Soccer Association and running track for the Capital City Comets Track Team. In the second grade he added his musical interest by learning to play the flute which gifted him the opportunity to solo in his annual school musical. The following year he learned the saxophone. Learning to play these two instruments lead to him playing in his high school marching band at Bexley High School. Jeremiah also had a love for music. Some of his favorite songs were, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Sowetha Gospel Choir, and “Blessed” by Buju Banton. His favorite afternoon snack was beef taquito’s. He also enjoyed the “Biggie chicken” at Wendy’s on a plain bun. He absolutely had to have his mother’s creole Gumbo for Christmas.
In high school Jeremiah's new-found love became wrestling and Football. Jeremiah played Varsity and JV Football and Wrestling. His competitive spirit led him to working out and drinking protein shakes. In his free time, he exercised at the YMCA or joined his teammates at his high school weight room to exercise. He also spent time with his year-long -girlfriend Kat. To prove his athleticism, he would jog with chest and ankle weights to show off his strength.
Jeremiah will be greatly missed, and forever cherished in the hearts of his parents Talish Tahiru and Jeremy Clinton; Grandparents Jacquelyn Clinton, Regina Ibanez, Nathaniel Smith Jr.; Mary Madison, Nathaniel Smith Sr., Hattie Hutchins, and Mark Mahan; three brothers, Christopher, Matthew, and Jameson; and two sisters, Janaya and Jalyah.
