Family will receive friends Saturday January 31st, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43213. 

John Edward “Johnny” Hart Jr., the second of six children of John Edward Hart Sr. and the late Alice Jeanette (Bell) Hart, was born on September 13, 1957, in Lebanon, Kentucky. He was called to be with the Lord at 68 years of age on December 29, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. 

John attended Marion County High School, where he was a legend on both the basketball court and baseball field. John was considered by many to be one of the greatest athletes to ever come out of Marion County. He graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, where he played basketball and was a member of the 1000-point club. He retired as an operations manager in the restaurant industry, having provided excellent service and served thousands of happy customers over the course of his decades-long career. He will be truly missed by all who loved and cherished him.

He is preceded in passing by his mother, Alice Jeanette (Bell) Hart. 

He is survived by his father, John E. Hart Sr., siblings: Donna C. Hart, Vicki M. Hart, Anita K. Hart, Marvin E. Hart, & Anthony L. Hart; his son, Cameron M. Hart; and his partner, Linda Michael, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and great friends.
