Karen A. Warren

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at New Faith Baptist Church of Christ 955 Oak St. Columbus, OH 43205.  Reverend Dr. Jefferey P. Kee, Senior Pastor is officiating. Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery, 1340 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43219.

Karen A Warren, affectionately known as Karen Leta, Mommy, Grammie, Dear Sister, Aunt K, and friend, went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at The Ohio State Richard M Ross Heart Hospital while surrounded by her loving children and family members. Karen battled a long-term illness for numerous years, but her zest for life remained constant to the very end.

Born on March 24, 1947, to James Walter and Florene Huckleby, Karen was raised and spent her life in Columbus, Ohio, where she rooted for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Lebron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. She was her mother's baby girl and wore the title with pride and honor.

Karen attended Douglas Elementary, Franklin Junior High, and East High schools. She worked in healthcare and enjoyed caring for and advocating for others throughout her career. Her greatest joy, however, was loving, protecting, raising, motivating, and cheering for her children. She extended the same sentiment to her grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces, and nephews.

Although she towered over many in height and had the strength of a giant, Karen was loving, kind-hearted, selfless, and giving. She was creative and loved to sing, listen to music, dance, watch her favorite television shows, and conversate with her "favorites," many of whom regularly sought her wisdom and advice.

Karen is preceded in death by her father, James Walter Huckleby; her mother, Florene Huckleby; sisters, Charlene Sharp, Cecile Towns, and Linda Huckleby; nephew, Anthony Sharp; nieces, Pamela Sharp and Carmella Glenn; and her great nephew Herbert Sharp, III.

Karen is survived by her sister, Reverend Walda Johnson; brother, James Walter Huckleby, Jr.; daughters, Lynn L Huckleby, Dr. Kellie M Warren (Onesimus Strachan), and Rolonda R Warren; her only son, Henry M Warren, Jr. (Candance Warren); grandchildren, Joshua Huckleby, Henry M Warren, III, Haley Warren, Harrison Warren, and Carter Warren; her great-grandson Henry M Warren, IV; and a host of nieces and nephews.
