Keith Laurence Moton was born January 31, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest of five children born to the late Sarah and Milton Moton. Keith attended Inkster Public Schools and graduated with honors from Inkster High School as a proud "Mighty Mighty Vikings!" in the class of 1973, crowned Mr. Esquire. He went on to study at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, with a double major of Pre-Medicine and Biology studies. He later worked at General Motors, where he dedicated 12 years of hard work before medically retiring.

Keith received the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Temple in Inkster, Michigan. As a man of faith, he devoted much of his time to the study of God's Word and sharing the Gospel Truth—whether preaching from the pulpit, evangelizing in the streets, or ministering within his home. Keith laid a firm foundation for his family, teaching them Christian values and church involvement.

Keith was also known for his heart for service. He volunteered regularly in his children’s schools and coached his son’s Little League baseball teams. He was musically inspired and was often found playing his trumpet or singing with a joyful
spirit. He also believed in serving the community and would take his children out to clean the streets of Detroit in various neighborhoods, whether they wanted to help or not! His commitment to giving back was as strong as his love for God, education and family.

Keith departed this life on April 14, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, with his family by his side. Keith was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sarah and Milton Moton, sister Shirley Moton-Massey, brother Milton Jr.,  twin brother Kenneth “Kenny” and  nephew Philip Moton. He leaves to cherish his beautiful high school sweetheart and wife of "50 Years", Marcella Moton “Cooky”, in whom he deeply loved and adored. His 7 children; Keith II (Tammy), MeShia Coleman (Devyn Sr.), Maresha, Kendrick, Kendal (Tina), Marseah, and Keinan. 13 Grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Popei"; Keith III, Chloe, Kendrick Jr, Kamron, Maliyah, Devyn II, Drew, Madisyn, Mekalei, Emmanuel-Mason, Michael, Kiaira, and Jayla. His only sister, Doris A. Moton-Spruill, nephew, who was like a brother, Jeffrey (Teresa), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Keith enjoyed  his family through laughter, storytelling and prayer.

Well done, good and faithful servant - Matthew 25:23
