Obituary

Calling hours (10 people at a time) Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43219. Interment East Lawn Cemetery. 

Mr. Kioshi Garnett Smith was born to Leara Helen Woody and Emmitt Smith on April 20, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio. He departed this earthly home for his heavenly home on July 3, 2020.

Kioshi was educated in the Columbus Public School System attending Mifflin High School. Kioshi worked several jobs. During his career he spent time at; Value City Furniture, Lucent Technology, and FedEx. He drove school buses for the Columbus City School district until 2018. He was a licensed barber and loved cutting hair. Kioshi loved sports, his favorite being football where he not only played but also coached for little league teams throughout the city. He was a “Battlestar” for life as he was a member of the Columbus Battlestars semi pro football team. Kioshi loved spending time with his children, family, and friends. You would find him on the grill most warm summer days.

Kioshi gave his life to the Lord at a young age as a member of The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith. Later in life he attended The New Tabernacle Church of Christ and Victory Deliverance Church of Christ. Several years ago Kioshi re-dedicated his life to the Lord and returned to his home church The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith (Brentnell).

Kioshi is predeceased by parents, Leara (Kenneth) Woody, Emmitt Smith; sister Coquella Smith; brother-n-law Leonard Cooper; and nephew Adrian Breckenridge.

Kioshi leaves to cherish his memory sons, Robert Morris and Kendall Smith; daughters, Cylon Trimble and Bailey Smith all of Columbus, Ohio. Grandchildren Caydence and Cooper Trimble all of Columbus Ohio.

Brother, Kenneth (Teresa) Smith of Savannah, Georgia. Sisters Betty Howard; Dannetta Wright-Cooper; Muriel Bryant; and Vanessa Bryant; Aunt Rama Bailey of West Virginia; and Brother Renauld Ray; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and close friends who loved him dearly.
