Lamont Marquis Featherstone, 45, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly on April 18, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at Mount Carmel East Hospital.


Lamont was born on March 7, 1981, in Columbus, Ohio, at St. Ann’s Hospital. He was the beloved son of Lisa Hartway and Dana Featherstone. He was raised in Columbus, attended South High School, and later earned an associate’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from DeVry University.


Lamont dedicated his life to his family. For the past six years, he worked as a home health aide, where he was known for his compassion, humor, and dedication to helping others. He had a deep love for Ohio State football and brought joy to those around him through his laughter and strong friendships.


He is survived by his loving wife, Kennetha Ransom Featherstone; his children, Jasmine Featherstone, R’Eion Featherstone, Nevaeh Featherstone, Deaushone Collins, and Lamont Featherstone Jr.; and his cherished grandson, Roman Johnson. He is also survived by his father, Dana Featherstone; stepfather, Harry Cox Jr.; mother-in-law, Sonja Combs; grandmothers, Iola Dunbar, Bertita Hartway, Nancie Ransom, and Roberta Truss; grandfather, Ira Hartway Jr.; siblings, Geoffrey and Justin Featherstone, Kelvin and Kristi Lamb, and Jimmiecă and Deion Combs; and uncles, Christopher Hartway (Michelle), Ira Hartway (Diana), and Donald Mayle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Hartway; grandmother, Louise Hartway; grandfather Charles Dunbar; sister Kamea Featherstone; father-in-law, Kelvin Ransom; and brother-in-law, Kelvin Johnson.


Those who knew Lamont will remember him for his infectious laughter, warm smile, and love for Ohio State football. His presence brought comfort and joy to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
