Larry Jeter “LJ”, born November 15, 1947, transitioned from this life on October 11, 2024, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. A man of strength and character, Larry proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His leadership and bravery in service to his country were only the beginning of a life defined by dedication and resilience.

After his military service, Larry embraced entrepreneurship, launching LJ Fashions before moving on to a long and impactful career at Men’s Warehouse. For over 21 years, Larry served as a manager, leaving an indelible mark on the company before his well-deserved retirement. His dedication to hard work was matched only by his love for living life to the fullest.

Larry was a devoted family man, the beloved patriarch of the Jeter family. His family was the center of his world, and he loved them deeply. A natural-born leader, Larry was known for his wisdom, always willing to share meaningful insights and offer support to those around him. He had a remarkable way of bringing joy to any room, always living by his personal motto: “You work hard, you play hard.”

Known for being the life of the party, Larry’s infectious energy and laughter will be missed by many. A proud and devout Cleveland Browns fan, his love for his hometown team was as steadfast as the love he gave to his family and friends.

Larry will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his remarkable ability to inspire and guide others. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Welcoming Larry home are (parents) Andy and Ariebell Jeter, (sister) Nora Lee Jeter-Bethea, (sister) Gail Ann Jeter, and (brother) Van Clark Jeter. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Jeter, and their son Stacy (Takiyah) Jeter and his daughter Maria Byrd. He was a devoted grandfather (Papa) to three wonderful grandchildren, Jaydyn, Ziyan, and Mekai. He leaves to cherish his memory brother Bruce (Louella) Jeter, sister Wendy (Wyatt) Watson, and a host of other loved ones; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and significant friends.
