It is with a somber heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Lawrence W. McDonald Sr., known affectionately as Larry. He passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 62 in Columbus, OH. Born on Oct. 26, 1961, in Jackson, MS, Larry grew up in a lively household that shaped his jovial and kind-hearted nature.

Larry dedicated his professional life to working as a mechanic and handyman. He mastered his skills through years of dedication and hard work. His ability to fix anything was matched by his constant humor and love for making others laugh.

Outside of work, Larry was an avid fisherman and grill master. Many knew him for his legendary backyard Bar-B-Q’s, and his knack for telling the perfect joke to lighten any mood.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Martha Lee McDonald and John Lee Harper, Son Lawrence W. Camp – McDonald, Jr. and his Brothers Juan Kendrick, Keith Moore and Cousin - Brother Choya Tyler. 

Larry’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his long-time partner Joann and his children: Danielle (Derrick) Curtis-Boone, Sophia (Anthony) Collins, Brandon McDonald, Devon Eubanks, Jordan Eubanks, and Angelique Parks; granchildren Aylanna Atkinsn, DeMarco Curtis-Atkinson, KiRomelo Collins, Amoni Curtis-Bone, Franklin, Gabriel, Alexandria, Derek Eubanks, and Brandon McDonald, Jr. He is also survived by his siblings: Robin Simmons, Effic McDonald, Gloria Anderson – Harper, Lola Harper-Heform, Shelia Harper, John H. Harper, Kelvin Harper, Charles Harper, God Mother Minnie McDonald, Special Cousins Yolanda Tyler, Sheming Tyler, Special Friend Ed Thomas, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
