Margie Kay Madison's Obituary

Margie Kay (Williams) Madison was born October 5, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio to Roland and Marjorie Williams.  After being surrounded by the love of her family, passed this life at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Margie graduated from East High School and attended classes at Ohio University.  She married Robert Madison in March of 1960 and they moved to Abilene, Texas, where Robert was stationed in the Air Force.  Of this union were born two children, daughter, Misty and son, Robert.  Kay was a proud Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend.

She was employed by the State of Ohio in various positions including the Buckeye Youth Center, where she enjoyed working with teens.  She later transferred to the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation and after 39 years of service with the State of Ohio, retired as a member of the IT Help Desk.

Kay was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She was adventurous, loved to travel and had a great sense of humor.  She was always ready for a challenge and had the determination to “figure things out.”  Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and friendship. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of many whose lives were touched by Kay.  We ask that you remember her, not for the way her life ended, but for the way she lived and the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Kay will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness, especially to her family and close friends.

Kay is preceded in death by parents, Roland and Majorie Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter: Misty (Gary) Elder; son: Robert (Young) Madison; brothers: Dr. Roger L. Williams; Reginald (Mary) Williams; and sister, Diane L. Williams; grandchildren:  Robert Madison, Jenea Elder, Marticia (Jeremy) Menard, Gabriel Elder, Gary Elder, Jr. and Lisa Madison; great-grandchild, Elaina Madison, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
