Mary C. Shelton

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Vineyard Church Columbus, 6000 Cooper Rd., Westerville, OH 43081. Interment: Kingwood Memorial Park.

Mary Carol Shelton, lovingly known to family and friends as Carol, age 75, was born on December 25, 1950, in Princeton, West Virginia, and entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Above all, she was a faithful servant of God whose life reflected Christ’s love through quiet service, compassion, and steadfast devotion to her family. She lived her faith daily—through prayer, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others—supporting countless members of her family with generosity, empathy, and grace.

Carol’s life was a testimony to love in action. She gave freely of herself, placing the needs of others before her own, and offering comfort, encouragement, and support wherever it was needed. Her faith was not only spoken but lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Strain, and her eldest brother, James (“Jimmy”).

She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Robert Shelton III; her two sons, Robert Shelton IV and Jonathan Shelton; her sisters, Connie, Judy, and Deborah; her brother, Kent; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews; and her seven cherished grandchildren: Rachael, Tovah, Naomi, Imara, Isaiah, Zahra, and Norah. Her legacy of faith, love, and service lives on through them.
