A Time To Be Born

Mary E. Wright Baity, affectionately known as "Aunt Jeanie," was born on October 10, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late C.D. Wright Jr. and Nellie Hobbs Wright. She was the fifth of six children in a close-knit and loving family.

A Time To Live

Mary attended Memphis Public and City Schools, graduating from Mitchell Road High School. She continued her education at Tennessee State University before moving to Columbus, Ohio. There, she dedicated over four decades of faithful service to Grant Hospital (Ohio Health), working from 1968 until her retirement in 2012.

Mary had a heart full of love and compassion. Known as "Aunt Jeanie" to many, she played a vital role in nurturing and uplifting her nieces and nephews. She offered guidance, unconditional love, and wisdom, encouraging them to embrace their worth and believe in themselves.

She was a woman who loved deeply—family, friends, and life itself. She found joy in listening to music, watching old Westerns, cooking soul-satisfying meals, playing cards, and sipping her favorite beverage—Pepsi—while enjoying time outdoors. Mary was united in marriage to the late Willie Baity, with whom she shared countless adventures, traveling across the country and always making their way back to her beloved hometown of Memphis.

A Time To Love

Mary's love and devotion were steadfast to her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory:

Sisters: Sallie Johnson (Memphis, TN), Deborah Wortham (Memphis, TN), Nephews: Alzona Hobbs, Charles Johnson, Johnnie Newsome, Gregory Gunter, Jeffrey Johnson, Deadrick Wright, Clarence Wright Jr., Nieces: Sharon Scales, Pamela Newsome, Kimberly Wortham, Great Nieces and Nephews:Antonie Scales, Sharif Scales, Valdeaz Scales, Martez Scales, Iyanna Boyd, Special Nephew (In Law): Howard Scales Jr., Special Friend: Jacquelin Spann
