MaryAnn Anderson

April 17, 1941 – May 6, 2025

MaryAnn Anderson passed peacefully on May 6th, 2025 at home. Although in failing health for some time, her family was able to grant her wishes to be in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She left a loving legacy to all she knew, and we will miss her every day. Although heartbroken, we know she is at peace now and with her parents and siblings in the Lords Kingdom. We are grateful for that, she is home.

Mom left to this world her husband of 62 years Marcus L. Anderson Jr, sons Marcus L. Anderson III (Marcella), Michael, and daughter Nikki Green (Will). MaryAnn had 4 wonderful grandchildren: Brandon Green (Chanell), Taylor Anderson (Jake), William Green and Justin Anderson (Taylor). She also has two remaining siblings, William Johnson (Saundra) and Marguerite Conley whom she loved dearly. In addition to family, MaryAnn leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends built over a lifetime of love and respect.

MaryAnn was proceeded in death by her mother and father (Mary and George Johnson) brothers Charles, George and Michael, and sister Marie. We all know there is one great reception happening right now in heaven as she comes home to be with them.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Susan Jackson for all her help and devotion while mom was in declining health – thank you. Taylor Anderson and Marcella also did whatever was necessary and needed, helping mom and loving her, sitting with her so many times that it cannot be counted – thank you. Also, we would like to thank Michelle Seymore for the many visits and the care she took of mom, as mom liked to look good, and she would pamper her. Also, thank you to her Hospice Nurse Dale and her many caregivers that helped to watch out after her.

And to Nikki, no one will ever truly know the sacrifice that you made to care for mom. You gave her life. You watched over mom, took her to your home and rehabilitated her, twice, spent countless hours and trips between your home far away and Reynoldsburg, caring for mom as no one else could. There are no words that can tell what you did, you gave mom multiple more years of life. You are our hero, and we thank you and will never forget what you did. Although I know you want no thank you, what you did was nothing short of amazing. She was not alone, as her husband Will was by her side, never complained, welcomed mom in their home to care for her, and treated her with a respect and dignity that was borne out of love. And to her grandson William, who respectfully referred to her as granny, your love, care and humor helped so much and was one of the reasons that mom came back to life. You also never complained and amazed all of us with your devotion and working with your mom and dad as a team, exercising mom, taking her outside, feeding her, everything. We love you and say thank you.

MaryAnn lived a full life filled with family and friends. She was a devoted mom, tough, but loving. She made sure her children had her attention and was present in her children and grandchildren’s lives and activities. She was quick with a hug; let you know how it was and fully supported her family. She was married to Marcus for 62 years and took care of him and the family home with an organization and care that not many could compare too. MaryAnn loved the Lord, was a wonderful singer and spent many days honing her craft at her brother’s church that we attended. She had numerous concerts where she sang, uplifting the gospel. Mom was devoted to her family and imparted that teaching to her children, assuring that we stayed close to family and learned all the wonderful things associated with being part of a big family. Some of our fondest memories are the days spent with family celebrating so many occasions that are too numerous to list here. MaryAnn was also a knowledgeable sports fan as she watched her children compete in sports over the years. As well as these many things, MaryAnn was an accomplished artist, painting many creative pictures in her own distinct style that are displayed in many homes of family and friend. She was able travel the world with dad on many occasions visiting Spain, Portugal, England, the Netherlands, Hawaii, Bahamas and all over the continental United States. Life will never be quite the same, but know, we are proud of you and have your memories deep in our hearts and will remember all that you taught us.

In closing, the family would like to Thank all who gave of themselves to care for mom and love her, we are forever grateful to you. God Bless.
