Family will receive friends Friday May 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery. 

PVT Michael Eugene Childs was born in Columbus, OH November 21, 1957. In his young adult years, Michael spent a lot of his life living in Michigan. Later, after deciding to move back home, he was able to rejoin his mother and family, before departing this world Thursday, April 17, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol D. Childs and brother, Larry J. Copeland, and father, Eugene Angelo Childs of Cincinnati, OH. He is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Maxine Brown; sister, Wanda Childs; brother Rodney (Tara) Childs, nieces and nephews, Quentin Childs, Myson, Rodney, Yoshiko, Larry Jr., Ashely and a host of cousins; including many of the Childs family in Cincinnati, OH.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church; in Columbus, OH where he served on the Usher Board until his health no longer permitted him to do so. Michael, known as Cook to his closest friends and relatives. Michael also served our great country by completing a tour of military duty in the United States Army. He led a colorful and active life until recently when he began to fail in health. He loved his family and idolized and doted (loved) upon his mother; Evelyn M. Brown of Phoenix, AZ. Private Michael Eugene Childs is sorely missed by his family.
