Family will receive friends Thursday January 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Gospel Lighthouse Church, 600 Frebis Ave. Columbus, OH 43206. Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery. 

Michael Earnest Jackson was born on October 12, 1961, in Mobile, Alabama. He is the youngest of nine (9) children born to Mr. Richard Sr. and Mrs. Serjetta Jackson. Michael entered eternal rest to be with the Lord on January 18, 2026, at sixty-four (64) years of age.

In 1965, the Jackson Family relocated to Columbus, Ohio due to Mr. Jackson’s job transfer. Michael matriculated through the Columbus City School System where he received his primary and secondary education and attended South High School.

At an early age, Michael and his family joined Ebenezar Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L.C. Brown, Sr. and became active members. He was involved in the Children’s Church Ministry where he gave his life to the Lord. Michael was a quiet and reserved person who was happy, content, and passionate about playing his guitar with his best friend, weightlifting in his self-made basement gym, barbequing for the family during the summer and cooking collard greens every Christmas. Michael loved his family and loved the Lord and rededicated his life to the Lord as an adult. He will be truly missed!

He was preceded in death by parents, Richard, Sr. and Serjetta Jackson. Sisters, Carol Taylor and Vernetta Jones. Brother, Richard Jackson, Jr. He leaves to cherish precious memories, Sisters: Melvina (Jerry) Fryar, Theresa (Claude) Jones, Rachel Jackson and Doris Jackson. Brother, Amos Jackson. Aunt, Andreta Jones of Mobile AL. Brother-in-Law, Michael Jones of Dayton, OH. Nieces and Nephews of Dayton, OH and Atlanta, GA. Cousins of Indianapolis, IN, Mobile, AL and Atlanta, GA. Long time friend Mark Jackson, who provided faithful support until his time of death.
