Michael A. Smith

Michael “Big Mike” Anthony Smith was born October 23, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to Nora B. and Louis W. Smith. Michael transitioned on Friday November, 12, 2021.

Michael attended East High School in Columbus, Ohio and was a former labor worker for Union Local 423 for 25+ years. Michael’s enthusiasm for automobiles created many friendships over the years; fixing, advising, assisting friends and family members with needed car repairs.

Michael was preceded in death by parents Louis W. and Nora B. Smith and son Louis W. Smith. 

Michael is survived by wife Monique Penn-Smith; daughters Michelle Higgins, Imani Louis, Maria Roby, and Danielle Smith; sons James Smith, Michael A. Smith II and Alen Penn; sister Jacqueline L. Smith; brother William (Virginia) Smith; nieces Brittany Smith, Ericka Dickerson, Almeta, Tina, Jamie, and Nora Smith; special friend and mother of his child Linda Roby; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Big Mike, as he was affectionately known will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
