Monique Higginbotham Obituary

Monique Revender (Coleman) Higginbotham, was born August 4, 1966 to David Ronald Coleman and Mildred Carter in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life in Columbus, Ohio, July 15, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer at her residence, with her loving and devoted husband Steven at her side.

Monique moved to Columbus, Ohio with her family in the late seventies. She graduated from Mifflin High School. She became a Christian at an early age. She became a member of the First Church of God in 2007. Monique was a certified home health aide. She worked at Macy’s Backstage Warehouse until she was too sick to work. Monique was well liked by her employer and co-workers. She was a hard worker and team player.

Monique, affectionately called Mo by family and close friends, had a smile that would light up a room and a personality to match. A sweet, caring and kind soul who loved her husband and family dearly. They were all very close. Mo loved traveling. Her and Steve traveled a lot, her favorite place was Niagara Falls.

On October 18, 2009, Monique was united in Holy Matrimony to Steven Higginbotham by Minister Clarressa Thompson. They were together until her death.

Preceded in death by her infant son Kionn Randolph. Survived by her beloved husband Steven Higginbotham; daughters Lashawna (Kandis) Johnson and Kionna Randolph; grandchildren Amiyah Christy, Kanaiya Ward; Father David Ronald Coleman; Mother Mildred Carter; brothers Bernard (Raqueal Hazel) Battle, David Ronald (Telia) Coleman, Jr.; sister Monya Tinsley; step-brother and sister Jamal and Shannon Battle; aunts Fannie Cunningham, Barbara Coleman; mother-in-law Janet Higginbotham; sister-in-law Kay Soltero, Katina (Lyndon) Carr, Karen Grace (deceased), brother-in-law Terrance Grace; special cousin Charlene Armstrong; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special friends Jerry “Juanita” Ray, Tyrone “Anita” Bowman, Robert Turner, Leo Watkins and Tee.
