Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227.

Moses Arthur Downey was born to Daisy Johnson and Willie Downey in Cleveland, Ohio on April 15, 1948. Moses was raised by Annie and Ikey after losing his beautiful mother at the tender age of 8 years old. He attended Cleveland Public Schools and eagerly joined the United States Marine Corp shortly after graduation in 1967. Throughout his service in the military he fought for his country on the front line in the Vietnam War and was thankful for his return back home in 1970.

Moses attended Cuyahoga Community College and multiple trade schools where he became efficient in Computer Technology.

Moses began working for the United States Postal Service in the 1980s and enjoyed discussing memories of his daily tasks and coworkers.

Moses loved golf and was an avid chess player and always stated that Men didn’t play checkers. If you knew him, you knew his saying when leaving was “ Slow and Easy” because goodbye was final. Unfortunately, Moses said goodbye to this life on May 5,2024 and he will be truly missed by all.

Moses leaves to his memory his children Chiquita(Trevelyn), Moses Jr., and Kinchassa; in addition to Chanona, Aaron(Mea) and Tangela; grandchildren Zuraun’te, Tremon, Diamond, Mozella, Taylor, Antonio, Tanzania, Jon Jr., Dareon, Aaron Jr, Nadori, Niyah, December, Neffertiti; great grandchildren Kyair, Syair, Latre, Isabella, Lauryn, Isla, Rhylan, Londyn, Rawri, Zendya, Chozyn, Anais and brother Willie Jr.
