Myra Belle (Keys) Perry was born on June 7th, 1933 in Keyser, WVA, to the late Harry Keys and Ira (Washington) Keys. She departed this life to take her place among God’s heavenly assembly May 27, 2020.
Myra was a graduate of Howard High School. She was joined in holy matrimony to Maurice L. Perry Sr. March 18, 1953 and was blessed with ten children from this union. Myra was a devoted wife for 35 years until the passing of her husband in 1988. The Perry house was known as the neighborhood “home”. Specifically, Myra was the neighborhood, “mom”, “gran-ma” and “GG” of (757) East Deshler Avenue.
Myra was certainly the epitome of a virtuous woman. As her sister, Thelma can testify “she exhibited the same loving patience Jesus had. She had the wisdom and grace to respond in love to all she knew and loved. Her influence will carry on through all of us.” Myra loved her natural family and spiritual family just as much. She was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church for almost 50 years and enjoyed her time as a member of the Choir and Simultaneous Revival choir member annually. She enjoyed going to bible study and was a true student of God’s word.
Preceding her in this walk of life and welcoming her home again are her husband Maurice L Perry Sr. Children: Darold A Perry, Rhonda A Perry, and Ranola L Perry. Siblings: Clarence (Eddie) Keys, Blanche Campbell, Nitra (June) Alexander, Elton (Honey) Johnson, David Keys, Harry Keys, Eurith Keys (infant) and Susan (Keys, Redman) Mitchell. And several special friends and family members.
Myra leaves to cherish her many memories, Sister Thelma Stewart, and Sister-in-law Joretta Keys; children: sons, Maurice L. (Tawn) Perry Jr., Chris W. (Terry) Perry, Cory A. (Jennifer) Perry, and Barry Page; daughters, Darlene McGilberry, Audrey M. (William) Griffin, Theda L. (Duncan) Smith, and Mira D Harris. And a host of nieces, nephews, grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren too numerous to name.
