Norman E. Moore, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Northlawn Memory Gardens.

Norman Edward Moore, Jr affectionately known as “Butch” was born on November 10th, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Norman E. Moore, Sr and Elizabeth Lois Gilbert-Moore. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday. May 30th, 2023.

Norman was a graduate of Eastmoor High School and attended Franklin University. He retired from Columbus City School System after 30 years of service. He was Vietnam Veteran who served his country proud. While in active duty he received the Vietnam Service Medal with Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, National Defense Medal, Marksman Badge, and Good Conduct Medal.  He was also dedicated to working various part time jobs, retiring from the last two jobs, 4 years ago. Norman was family oriented, hardworking, caring, selfless, and enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, family, and friends. His favorite sports team was the Cleveland Browns. He also was a member of St, Marks Lodge No. 7 & Alla Baba Temple #53.

Norman proceeded in death by his parents, uncles Pastor James Gilbert (Vyruth), John Moore, Linwood Moore, George Moore and Erwin Moore, brothers John David Moore Sr and Ronald Eugene Moore, sister Brenda Lear, aunts Margaret Gilbert, Christine Spence and Portia Miller, cousins Nimrod Reese, nephews John David Moore Jr and Craig Moten Jr., great nephew Tyrone Moore, and great niece Brianna Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories of his wife Carolyn Moore; children Norma Moore, Shonda Moore, Norman Moore III, and Neche Phillips; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Vyruth Moten, Christine Moore, special friends and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
