Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist, 266 N. Champion Avenue, Columbus, OH 43203. Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery.
Pamela Hester, affectionately known as Pam, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 24, 2022, after a long battle with a terminal illness. Pam was born November 13th, 1955, the only child to the late Dwight and Georgia Lee Winbush. Pam was a lifelong resident of Columbus Ohio her forever home. Pam was employed by the Ohio Department of Taxation for many years as a tax preparer until she retired to care for her mother.
Pam was a long time and faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Dr. Henry L. Johnson. It was there she met and married the love of her life of 19 years the late Deacon Harry Hester. Pam was truly a resolute member of her church. She had a beautiful tenor voice and served tirelessly on the praise team and in two choirs, vacation bible study and was a deaconess. She served with that affectionate smile we all knew and will miss. Pam displayed throughout her life the love she had for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it never wavered even when she was sick.
Pam is preceded in death by her Parents, Dwight, and Georgia Lee Winbush; Husband, Harry Hester.
Pam leaves to cherish her memory, Stepdaughters, Monica Hampton, Pastor Aretha (Pastor Rodney) Hammonds of Virginia; Sister-in-Law, Ann Johnson of Columbus Ohio; Bonus Grandchildren, Travis Hester, Rebecca Hammonds, Rodney Hammonds Jr., Chae Hammonds; The Family Matriarch Deloris Black of Columbus; Best Friends, Linda Spivey of Florida, Michelle Shanks of Columbus and many cousins and a host of friends. We all have been blessed to have known her.
