Patty Solis departed this life September 16, 2021. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Jordan Bible Church, 1825 Woodland Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43219. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Patty L. Solis AKA “Pat” went home to be with her maker on Thursday night, September 16, 2021 at 9:19 p.m. at the Ohio State University Hospital. At the age of 81
She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 14, 1940, to Charles and Ada Elder.
She attended Pilgrim Elementary, Champion Jr. High and East High Schools. She graduate in June of 1958.
After graduating from high she married Dwight A. Solis and to this union five children were born.
Her work experiences included: Westinghouse Electric; Kum Ba Ya Christian Bookstore, C.D. White & Son Funeral Home and Columbus Urban League.
She joined Union Grove Baptist Church in 1955 and later united with New Salem Baptist Church in late 1983, where she got the rest of the family started on their journey there starting in 1984.
Her church ministries started with the Children’s Band, Children’s Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. One of the first Van Drivers for New Salem picking up students at Ohio State University to come to church on Sundays; she was also on the Women’s Usher Board and Choir.
Pat went home to join her parents; brothers, Robert, Richard, Regis, Thomas and Carl Elder; granddaughter, Shaneka Solis; son, Carlos Solis and great grandson, Milo Brownlee; and other relatives.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, children, Dwight, Charles (Chuck), Anthony (Tony) and Carlisa Solis; grandchildren, Stephanie, Shayla, Juan, Darrell, Derese, Deniqua, Dennis, Shawntee, Desirae, Tasha, TJ, Teesha, Diante, Tyrone, DeShana. 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson. Sibling, Donald (Faye) Elder, Shirley Burbridge, Maurice (Patty) Elder, Betty Lester (her twin) and Kathryn (James) Payne. And many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
