Paul Ward Thomas was born July 1, 1949, in Pataskala, Ohio. Paul was called to eternal rest on Monday, May 23, 2024.

Paul graduated from Columbus Adult High School. Upon graduating, Paul served in the U.S. Navy and retired after thirty years of service. He later worked for the City of Columbus, Division of Sewage & Drainage and retired after forty years of service. In his spare time, Paul also worked part-time at Limited Brands Distribution for five years.

If you knew Paul, you know he was a hard and dedicated worker. After retirement, he enjoyed and maintained a busy schedule as he was actively involved in volunteering at various food pantries. Paul loved fishing and collecting African art figurines and pictures. Most importantly, he loved and enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and often hosted cookouts to celebrate birthdays and holidays.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Fred Banks and Vivian V. Jackson Thomas; Sisters: Joan Simmons, Arlene (Betty) McNeal, Paulette Smith, and Barbara Pittman. Brothers: Clark, Robert, John, Alphonso, Frederick, Jeffrey, and Mark Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory: Diane Hassan – Four years of togetherness. Children: Paul Ward (Cynthia) Thomas, Jr., Matthew A. (Arika) Thomas, and Summer Renee Landers-Thomas. Sisters: Alice Lester and Gwandine Thomas; Great Aunts: Mary Jackson and Mabel Turns; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
