Peggy Mae Griffin-Dunlap departed this life on July 31, 2023, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  Born on July 10, 1944, to Edward and Eliza Brewer in Union, SC, Peggy was the eldest of seven children. After relocating to Asheville, NC, at a very young age, Peggy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by her uncle, Pastor Benjamin F. Brewer, at the family church, Triedstone Baptist Church.  Peggy graduated from Stephens Lee High School in Asheville, NC; and moved to Columbus, Ohio to pursue a career in nursing. She was an active and devoted member of the missionary ministry at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Peggy was very active in the Elks lodge for more than 30 years and served as Daughter Ruler at the Harvey Alston Elks lodge in Columbus, Ohio. She was also a devoted and vigorous volunteer receptionist at the Marion Franklin Recreation Center.  Peggy had a natural talent and passion for home decorating, enjoyed pleasing her family and friends by cooking wonderful southern recipes she acquired while growing up in North Carolina, and had an overall joy of life, always bringing glee to those with whom she crossed paths.

Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Eliza Brewer, first husband Donald Griffin Sr., second husband James Dunlap, sisters Patricia and Barbara Brewer, stepson James Jr.  Peggy leaves to cherish her memory sons, Jeffrey, Donald (Kimberli), Kevin; adopted son Russell; stepdaughter Patrice; sisters, Sara, Melinda (Lynwood), Carolyn, brother, Eddie Jr (Deb); nine grandchildren, Kevin, Keivon, Donald III, Jordan, Donovan, Phoenix, Keedyn, Heavenly, Nyasia; two great grandchildren, adored niece, Sandra Fortson; special friends, Frances Brown and Gene Mackey; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
