Phillip Thomas Dunbar, born on February 11, 1947, in Columbus, OH, peacefully departed this world on December 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the cherished son of the late Helen Hall and William Dunbar.

A devoted father, Phillip is survived by his loving children Kashawna Dunbar, Jeffery, and Robin Belton, along with his adoring grandchildren, Amera and Ava Dunbar, Jeffery Jr., and Akira Belton. He was a pillar of strength and love in their lives.

Phillip was a proud Vietnam veteran of the US Army, serving his country with honor and dedication. His commitment extended to his role as a successful car salesman at Lindsey Acura dealership, where he made a lasting impact in the professional world.

Passionate about family, Phillip leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. His surviving siblings, William F Dunbar, Michael Dunbar, Diane Dunbar, Michelle Belton (Joseph), Lauretta Prease (James), Minerva Williams, and Kim Woo, will forever carry the memories of his kindness and camaraderie.

Phillip was an active member of the New Covenant Believer’s Church, where he found solace, community, and spiritual fulfillment. His faith was a guiding light that inspired those around him.

In addition to his immediate family, Phillip is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews who were touched by his wisdom and generosity.

As we bid farewell to Phillip Thomas Dunbar, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his legacy of love continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

The viewing will be at 11am and will be followed by the Homegoing service at 12pm, on Thursday December 21,2023. These services will be held at New Covenant Believer’s Church.  Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Phillip's life and honoring his memory.
