Rena Morant

Rena Bell Morant, age 81 of Reynoldsburg Ohio, and formerly of Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully at home on Saturday May 15, 2021.

Rena was born on March 23, 1940 in Florence, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jeff Barr and Mrs. Sallie Barr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: James, Solomon, Silas, her twin brother Joseph Sr. and sister Alberta.

Rena was part of the great migration north in the 1960s and had aspirations of being a nurse. However, she was compelled to devote her life to her family. She raised six children and continued on in this role by being an instrumental part in the lives of her grandchildren.  Rena was a giver by nature.  She made sure to acknowledge every life accomplishment of those close to her and those she may have only had one encounter with.  She was a dreamer and never allowed her age to place any limitations on her life. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Philip Morant Jr., six children: Rosa Barr, Ricky (Elba) Morant, Shirley Morant, Shadena Morant-Daniels, Carolyn Morant and Marilyn Morant, three brothers: Jeffrey (Jessie Bell) Barr, Paul (Elaine) Barr and Nathaniel Barr, 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
