Rhoda Y. Martin, born on December 10, 1956, entered the Lord's presence on August 26, 2023, at 66. Her life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and unwavering love. As we mourn her passing, we reflect on the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy marked by her caring nature and profound impact on those around her.

Rhoda's educational journey took her through East High School and later led her to Southern Ohio College, where she earned her STNA certification. Armed with her certification, she embarked on a career devoted to caring for others, reflecting her nurturing soul. Her kindness and selflessness knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of countless individuals during her professional journey.

Rhoda's path was paved by the loving hands of those who came before her. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Elizabeth Martin; her Father, James "Junebug" Martin II; her Grandparents, James Martin Sr. and Clara Martin, Buenice Wofford; and her Brother, James "Dumas" Martin III; and her Uncle Dwight Wofford. Their memory lived on in her heart, a testament to the enduring bonds of family.

Left to cherish her memory are her Daughters, Dawana Burke (Roosevelt) and Ashanti Martin (Dennis Thomas), and her Son, Damon Hayes (Kendra). Rhoda's devotion to her children was the cornerstone of her life, and their love will forever endure. In addition, she is survived by her Stepmother, Lucy Martin, Brothers, Jeffery Martin and Douglas Keith Dimmy (Darlene Howell), and Nephew Michael Wofford who shared a deep sibling connection with her.

Rhoda's legacy also extends to her adoring Grandchildren: Nico Martin (Quanisha Hodge), Jaylon Hayes, ZyHannah Burke, De'Asia Martin, Tilaeja Turner, MyTia Turner, Sameyah Thomas, Dejon Holmes, Marcus Holmes, and Aaron Mackey. Her light shines brightly in their lives, reminding them of the love and wisdom she shared. The Great-Grandchildren she leaves behind—Michael Andre Champion III, Noah Martin, and Lei'lani Martin—carry her legacy with each passing day.

Rhoda's Aunts and Uncles, Christina Wofford and Albert (Linda) Wofford, were not just family but pillars of support and sources of cherished memories. Their presence in her life added depth to the tapestry of her experiences. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and Special Friend - Stephen Hairston.

As we celebrate Rhoda's life, let us remember the warmth of her smile, the comfort of her embrace, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her journey to meet the Lord may mark the end of her earthly existence, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those touched by her boundless love and kindness.

Though she is no longer physically with us, Rhoda's legacy of love, care, and devotion will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through the darkest moments and reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived. May she rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
