The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at Rehoboth Temple Church of Christ, 1111 E. Long Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43203.

Robert Eugene Keyes, age 41, New Albany, Ohio, born January 13, 1983, gained his wings on Monday, December 16, 2024.  “Robbie,” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.  As a child he was often seen wearing a robe and holding a “microphone” in his hand preaching the word, emulating his father and the late Bishop Kenneth L. Bligen.  He was a member of Refuge Temple Church where his father, Robert O. E. Keyes, serves as Bishop.  Robbie was a 2001 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, Gahanna, Ohio, and played four years on the boys’ varsity basketball team as team captain: receiving several honors and awards including All Ohio first team and most valuable player.  Robbie was selected for the Ohio High School All Stars which played in Italy with team members that included several top Ohio high school stars including Lebron James. He also played for two years at Glen Oaks Community College, Michigan and was recently attending Franklin University studying Finance. Robbie was a proud girl dad and when he was not working spent most of his time with his daughters, who were his greatest joy.  Robbie was simultaneously employed at Bread Financial, formerly Alliance Data, Safelite and Ryder Trucking.

Robbie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roy J. Keyes, maternal grandparents, John and Jessie Slacum, uncles Roy Keyes, Terry Slacum and John “Freddie” Slacum and Aunt Cheryl Lynn Keyes Saunders.  Robbie was dearly loved by his family and friends who are saddened and heartbroken over his passing.  He leaves to cherish his memory his Princesses, daughters Jaliyah Renee and Royce Irie, Mother Jessie “Renee” (Ray) Stubblefield, Father Bishop Robert O. E. (Brenda) Keyes, sister Jaleesa Keyes, best friend/mother of his children Brittany Carpenter, grandmother Geraldine Keyes, aunts Leslie Keyes, Chante Slacum and Sandy (Lewis) Barnett and uncles Randy Keyes and Chester “Chuckie” Murray and a host of other relatives and friends.
