Robert F. Marsillio was born October 14, 1950 in Bridgepoint, CT to Frank and Anna Marsillio, both deceased. He departed his earthly shell October 28, 2021. Robert has one sister, Sandra Marsillio. Robert is preceded in death by the love of his life of more than 40 years, Francine (Brown) Marsillio. Through their bond, Robert gained two step children whom he loved and cherished as his own biological children, Tony and Tara. Tony, also, precedes Robert in death. These two gave him the gift of being a grandfather to some wonderful children. These grandchildren whom he cherished and was very proud of include De’Andre Bush, Nigel and Micah Brown, and Zoe Ottey.
Robert spent his late teens and early adult years pursuing his love for music. He played in multiple bands in Harlem, NY during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s before joining the Buckeye Politicians for whom he played the trumpet and keyboard. Through performing with the band, Robert was able to travel the world, meet many people and play in the same places that big name bands and singers performed, as well. Through the band Robert was able to build some valuable friendships. After he stopped performing with the band, he used his talent in art and design to work for Lucent technologies. He attended Devry University to grow in his talent of design and drafting using the computer. He remained with Lucent technologies until he retired in the late 1990’s.
Robert loved to share his home and his heart with his family. He had a kind and genuine heart. He made anyone who came around him feel taken care of. Robert was known for his organization, stories and “keeping it real”.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sister Sandra Marsillio. His step-daughter Tara (Brown) Ottey. Brothers and sisters in law, Evans, Willie, Paula and Linda Brown. His daughter in law, Angela (Perry) Brown. His grandchildren De’Andre Bush, Nigel and Micah Brown, and Zoe Ottey.
