Romelia Yvette Poellintz affectionally known as Ro and Peaches was born on January 3, 1965, in Thomaston, Alabama to the late Julia Poellintz and Eddie Lee Poellintz Sr. Romelia was the sunshine of the family. You could see her smile a mile away. The family relocated to Detroit, MI in 1974 where she was educated in the Detroit Public School System.

Romelia accepted Christ at an early age. In 2014, she was baptized into the Jehovah’s Witness faith in Pickerington, Ohio.

Romelia loved her family, in her eyes, no one could ever do any wrong. She saw the best in everyone. She loved to laugh and make people smile. She was the glue that held everyone together. Romelia assisted in raising her nieces and nephews. Her passion was caring for children. She dedicated most of her adult life to working at various childcare centers.

On May 24, 2021, God whispers her name and called her home to rest. Her mother Julia Poellintz, father Eddie Lee Poellintz, Sr., son Chavze Poellintz, Jr., two brothers Nathaniel Poellintz and Eddie Lee Poellintz, Jr. preceded her in death.

Romelia leaves to cherish her precious memories three sons Diona Poellintz, Isaiah Smith, and Simon Owens; two grandsons who were the light of her world Chavze Poellintz, Jr. and Josiah Smith; nephew/son Kendrick Poellintz; niece/daughters Michelle Cade and Unique O’Rear; four sisters Maude (Baxter) Hill, Lorraine (Mitchell) Simon, Diane Poellintz, Gloria Jean Anderson; three brothers Aron Cade, Ivan (Holly) Poellintz, Barry (Wanda) Poellintz.

Romelia was loved by many which include a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and host of friends.
