Roscoe T. Matthews

Roscoe Thomas Matthews departed this life at the age of 56 after a lengthy illness on March 5, 2020. Roscoe was born in Columbus, Ohio to Viola Matthews and Roscoe Lake on January 10, 1964.

Roscoe attended Columbus Public Schools. At an early age he loved hanging out with his grandfather doing odd jobs. Roscoe was an entrepreneur at heart.

Roscoe was the father of one son Rico Jenkins. Roscoe loved his family and loved attending family functions. He loved playing bid-whist with his favorite partner Karen Davis. They were the winners of the last Wilson Lake Herbert Family Reunion bid-whist tournament. One of his favorite quotes was “If you already ready, you don’t have to get ready.”

Roscoe is preceded in death by his parents Viola Matthews and Roscoe Lake, stepfather David Carroll, nephew Dashay Carroll. Roscoe leaves to cherish his memories his son Rico Jenkins, sibling Tequila Lake, Tia (Steve) Hollinsworth, Darlene Carroll, Brent (Condi) Carroll, Trent (Maya) Carroll, Aunts Victoria (Lendyburgh) Talley, Gwen Schilling, Gloria Holman, Uncles James (Loretta) Lake Sr. and Melvin Miller. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 5:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 6:00pm at Kimberly Parkway Church of God, 4150 Kimberly Parkway, Columbus, OH  43232.
