Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Rd., Columbus, OH 43227. Livestream will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Ruth Ann Cody was born on May 8, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Alice Iverson-Steptoe and Eldridge Kilgore. She departed this life on Friday April 3, 2026.

Ruth received her education through the Columbus Public School system and retired from The Schottenstein warehouse. She unioned with Maurice Osborne, from this union a son David E. Osborne was born. Ruth united in marriage with Nathaniel Walker, from this union came a daughter Cynthia M. Walker. Ruth united in a second marriage to Roney Cody, from this union came a daughter Lisa A. Cody. Ruth was known to friends and family as “Sissy”, “Patti”, “Nana” and “Grandma”. Ruth enjoyed being with family and had a passion for home cooked meals.

Ruth is preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Eldridge and Edward and her sister Lillian.

She leaves to celebrate her home-going to her children David (Christine) Osborne, Cynthia Walker, Charles Williams, Lisa (Carlos) Townsel. Grandchildren Tamika, David Jr, Karriston, Davonna, Ashlee (Carl), Tyree (Jasmine) and Trinity. Special daughters Regina Evans and Dianne Oliver. Special nephew Steve R. Butler. Many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and cousins.

She will be greatly missed.
