Obituary

Sandra M. Groce transitioned June 5, 2022. Family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Chapel. Interment: Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Service will be livestream at noon.

Mother Sandra Michelle Groce, affectionately known as Sandi, was born January fifteenth, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to the union of Charles and Clifford Givens.  She  entered into the presence of Jesus, peacefully on June 5, 2022. Mother Groce retired from Ohio Bell and Columbus City Schools.  She also served as long time Secretary at Victory Deliverance Church.

Mother Groce was a graduate of East High School and an active member of the East High School Alumni Association.  She was a founder and member of the South Side Seniors group where she served as President for several years.  Mother Groce was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. She served faithfully as Church Mother and Elder at Greater Glory Empowerment Temple until the time she was called home.

Mother Groce leaves to mourn her memory; her husband, Herman Groce; her son, James (Teresa) Lanier; her daughter, Brandi Muhammad; her sister, Eunice Givens; her bonus children, Pamula, Katrina & Fred. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
