In Loving Memory of Sandra Lou MacEachen

Sandra (Sandy) MacEachen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dedicated military veteran, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, at the age of 75. She leaves behind a legacy of family devotion and unwavering love that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Born on January 14, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, Sandy grew up with a sense of selflessness that would guide her throughout her life. She enlisted in the United States Women’s Army Corp at the age of 18, serving her country with honor.  While in the military, she met her first husband, Ira Walker, and after leaving the military in 1968 Sandy embarked on a new chapter of her life which included building a family.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her children.

Later in life, after separating from her first husband Ira, Sandy met Lawrence (Larry) MacEachen.  In 1992, they were united in marriage. Together, they shared a bond that grew stronger with each passing year. Larry was her steadfast companion, providing love, support, and companionship through both joyous and challenging times. 

Sandy will be remembered for her kind heart, unconditional giving, caring for others, and unwavering loyalty to family.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Byron, mother Lucille, step-mother Gladys, and brother Gene. She is survived by her loving husband Larry, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sons, Jeff, Jim, and Bill, her daughter Samantha, and her eight grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings and a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by her presence in their lives.

As we say our goodbyes to Sandy, let us remember the extraordinary life she lived, the sacrifices she made, and the love she shared. May her spirit live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.

Funeral services will be held at White’s Funeral Chapel in Columbus, OH on May 24, 2023 with visitation beginning at 11AM and the service commencing at noon. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable life of Sandy MacEachen.

Rest in peace, dear Sandy. You have touched countless lives with your compassion to others and devotion to family, and have served your country honorably. Your memory will forever and always be etched in our hearts.
