Sharon Lee Grant passed away peacefully at Riverside Hospital on Saturday, February 22, 202, surrounded by a host of family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Howard J. Grant, mother Garnetta Grant, sister Ruth Ann Sutton and brother Jackie Grant. She leaves behind two brothers Gerald (Evonne) Grant and William (Magdalena) Grant, sister Susan (Don) Rice, uncle Robert (Marion) Tribune, long-time friend Emmagene Barnett, goddaughters Sonia (Terrance) Smith, Renata Barnett, Sherika Barnett and Lakeya Barnett, and a host of other nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
Anyone who knew Sharon knew she loved her family with all her heart. She had a contagious smile and a way of making everyone feel like they were special. Sharon was always willing to give of herself, her time, and her resources, expecting nothing in return; the gift to her was just your presence.
Sharon also had a way with words that would make you laugh out loud with her Sharonisms, clever rhymes and quick-witted sayings; she was never at a loss for words. When she talked to you, she made sure she had your full attention. Sharon was truly one of a kind.
While we will miss Sharon beyond measure, we can carry on her unwavering faith, compassion for others and irrefutable love for our family and friends. In doing so, her legacy lives on.
