The Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Ann Lovings made her entry onto this earth on May 20, 1938 to Robert Henry and Grace Lu’Ella Goins. After 82 graceful years on Thanksgiving Day she gained her wings at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memory her last living sibling, Laverne Miller, her adopted children, Karen, Chris, Fredrick, Jason, Shirlene and Deneisha Lovings and several foster children and grandchildren.
Shirley was educated in the Columbus Public School System attending First Avenue Elementary, Everett Junior High School and would graduate from the historic Central High School. On January 1, 1955 she would give birth to her only natural child Shirtillha Dean Goins aka “Bitsy”. On October 17, 1974 she tied the knot with her best friend Mack Edward Lovings. Attending Bowling Green State University she earned a degree in Accounting.
Shirley would later utilize her degree and countless years of partnership with her best friend, Mrs. Arta Jean Saunders of Saunders Trucking. She would also have no problem letting you know that she could drive anything because she had a CDL permit. Her CDL lead to her driving for Columbus City Schools, daycare, meals on wheels and for Brother Gary Bannister’s father’s company, Transportation Incorporated.
Shirley had a love for sports, traveling, camping, church and most of all her family. On most weekend’s you would find her bowling.
