Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227.

Steven Rynell Thomas was born October 15, 1977, in Akron, Ohio. He was the beloved son of Patricia and Elbert Ferguson. Steven departed this life on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

He lived in Akron until he and his mother moved to Columbus, Ohio when he was eight years old.  Steven found his love of God at the Liberty Baptist Church for the deaf, under the late pastor Eugene Bordean. Steven graduated from Northland High School in 1997 and attended Northern Illinois university. 

He had a strong love for football. Specifically, Michigan and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He could always be found watching a game, decked out in his Michigan gear. 

For the last nine years of his life, Steven worked at Piada Restaurant, he loved his job and coworkers. 

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandmother Sophie Thomas and Grandmother and Grandfather Sophie and Robert Dunning.

He is survived by his parents Patricia and Elbert Ferguson of Columbus, Ohio; sisters Shayla and Tiffany Ferguson of Columbus, Ohio; niece Harmony Williams and nephew Jackson Bowers-Ferguson of Columbus, Ohio; grandmother Jennie Ferguson of Columbus Ohio; uncle Rodney Tisdale of Columbus Ohio, aunt Jennifer Ferguson of Columbus, Ohio, and uncle Mordicai Ferguson of Sacramento, California; Great Aunt Mattie Cotton of Augusta, Georgia; Great Aunt Bessie and Uncle Harry Floyd of Warner Robins, Georgia; Great Aunt Sara Thomas of Macon, Georgia; Great Uncle Leo Thomas of Macon, Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends.
