Tamara Gerasimova, age 75 was born on July 28th, 1945 in St. Petersburg, Russia to Konstantin Vasilkov & Ana Vasilkova. She married her life friend and her love, Ilya L Gerasimov whom she met in 1961 and went to a University of Russia together. Tamara & Ilya got married on January 29th, 1966 and continued their journey together for 55 years.
Tamara graduated with honor from the High School in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1962. She did participate in tracking running distance & played basketball through her middle and high school years. She was surrounded many of her high school friends for a long period of time...
Tamara loved her family, cousins, and was always there for them at the difficult time. She loved math, geometry and chemistry in school and took her knowledge with her to become a Technical Engineer. She Graduated with Honor and earned a from the St. Petersburg University in 1966. Wile working as a Technical Engineer
During her career she decided to learn and become a Cobol Programmer. Her story was as she shared with her daughter: “I went to the Library, got a book & learned on my own”. From that day forward for 36 years she continued her career she loved.
In June of 1971 Tamara gave a birth to her only daughter Irina Gerasimova who also took the steps into Information Technology and Business field.
She also shared her love with food such as baking Russian cream puffs and napoleon for her family, friends and co-workers at her job prior to moving to the USA.
She had her favorite dishes that she loved to make for Birthdays and Holidays: (Salad Olivier, Herring under a Fur Coat, Beet Salad)
In 1991 Tamara was given an opportunity by her husband Ilya Aunt Sara Gurke to come to U.S. and live life to a fullest with the family. Tamara landed in Columbus, OH with her immediate family and mother in law in August of 1994 and continued her career as a Cobol Programmer at EDS / JPMorgan Chase till September 2011. Tamara had a great heart, helped raise her grandson when her daughter was in school and work. She was surrounded so many great people who appreciated her for who she is.
Tamara is survived by her husband Ilya Gerasimov, her daughter Irina Perry; grandson Ilya Strickler, Ekaterina Kapranova; cousin, Nina Grachova; cousin, Tatyana Grachova; cousin, Galina Kok Kapranova; niece; and Robert L. Perry son in- law.
Her Private Family Viewing and Celebration of Life will be held at Whites Funeral and Cremation Services on Tuesday December 1st at 1:00 P.M (Only 10 people allowed at the time) 867 S James Rd, Columbus Oh 432017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her daughter Irina Perry.
