A Life Well Lived
Tara was born on January 16, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio to Tommy L. Tucker and Patricia Tucker. Tara accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist by Rev. G.T. Turner. Tara was educated in the Columbus Public School system. She was privileged to travel on a school sponsored trip to Europe, while a student at Mifflin High School. Tara continued to further her education and graduated from The University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She received her Master's degree in Public Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management (Devry University).
While living in Cincinnati, Ohio, she worked as Senior PQA Analyst, for Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services. Tara returned to Columbus and worked as a Human Resources Consultant for AIM Technical Consultants. In 2015, she became a Program Manager for the Columbus Public Health Department. Her last employment was with the Franklin County Health Department. Tara was a loyal member of Martin Luther King, Jr. Temple 1216. Improved, Benevolent, Protective Order of Elks of the World. (I.B.P.O.E of the World).
Despite her health challenges she continued to work at her job, run the household and be a mother to Tylea. Tara was blessed with many talents, she loved to sing, write poetry, scrapbook, cook, and party! She and Tyson sang with a band in and around Columbus. Tara was kind, spiritual and full of fun, she loved to laugh. She was a PEANUTS enthusiast! She owned CDs and books, but still watched every show on TV.
All acts of kindness will remain within our hearts. We are grateful for the ever-present help during Tara’s transition. Thank you, Vickie Darthard, Yvonne and Brenda Coggins, Shirlene (Sue) Jackson, Yvonne Hill, Diane Brown, Manenia Payne, who were there for the hard jobs.
