Tressie (TeeTee) Sue Flewellen, daughter, sister, and friend, age 54, passed away peacefully at Kobacker House on October 4, 2024.
Born on September 26, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio, Tressie was the cherished daughter of parents Donald and Frances Flewellen. Growing up on the Westside Hilltop, Tressie attended Wayne Ave Church of God and was a Columbus City School student from elementary to high school. As an adult, she worked various jobs. Her most memorable professional employment was at Honey Baked Ham on West Broad Street. As a supervisor, Tressie’s contributions and commitment were deeply valued. She took pride in her work, employees, and customers, a testament to her professional integrity that earned her the respect of all who worked with her.
Tressie was known for her outgoing personality, gentle spirit, kindness, and thoughtful nature. She was a living hallmark card, remembering others' special occasions. Tressie would remember your birthday, anniversary, graduation, or meaningful events. More importantly, she wouldn’t just remember; she would call you to celebrate, to check in and say hi.
Although she lived in Columbus her entire life, Tressie was a Michigan fan. She cheered on the Wolverines during football season, especially when they played the Buckeyes.
Tressie was compassionate and deeply rooted in caring for children and elderly adults. Her nurturing spirit shone brightly in her willingness to help and support others in need. With her patience with children, she was a trustworthy childcare provider, and with her loving personality and presence, she was a light of comfort to elderly adults.
Tressie exhibited resilience, and with a legacy of love that she leaves behind, she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those her gentle soul touched.
Tressie is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Ann Flewellen. She is survived by her father, Donald Eugene Flewellen, siblings Annette Lucille Flewellen, Donna Jean (Chip) Germany, Charles Dwight (Cynthia) Flewellen, Rev. Marla Kay (Michelle) Flewellen, Alice Marie (Curtis Sr.) Davis. Tressie is loved and cherished by nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and godchildren. She is forever remembered by many special friends, family, and anyone who knows Tee Tee.
Tressie’s love for people was the cornerstone of her warmth and affection. May her love, kindness, and selflessness rest in our hearts and comfort us in the season of grief and loss.
May Tressie’s memory inspire us all. May her legacy remind us to care for others with consistent and steadfast love.
