Velina D. Alexander

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Grandview Cemetery, 300 Brookside Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601. Livestream will start at 11:00 a.m.

Velina D. Alexander was born June 08, 1970 to the parents of Ms. Lillie Mae Alexander and Mr. Aaron Thomas in Ohio. Velina, also known as Shonnie, grew up in Columbus, Ohio with three other siblings, Vincent Alexander & Vaughn Alexander her two elder brothers and Hakeem Smith her baby brother. She gave birth to two sons Joseph Bryant and Dominick Kelley from two relationships while living in Columbus before moving to Detroit, Michigan and marrying in 1993. Her marriage added two more children, Aisha Shelton and Khalil Shelton, totaling four children, three boys and one girl.

In 2005, Milk migrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in pursuit of her passion to elevate as a woman of God, as a mother and as a business woman. The Nail Beast elevated into greatness as she did every aspect of her life. She hustled in many ways, owned and operated businesses and worked in the Milwaukee Public School system for the last 20 years of her life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Velina was currently working on obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Psychology then retiring in the next 6 years. 

Queen V first became a grandmother in February 2011 and had 13 more following. She loved all 14. She was a Believer, Queen, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Businesswoman who was devoted to her family (immediate and extended) and did everything in her power to aid her loved ones and friends. Milk loved to shoot pool and travel to different states. She had a passion for cooking and was the light of any and every event.

Velina was preceded in death by her mother Lille Alexander and father Aaron Thomas and a host of family and friends.
